It was a dark and stormy night in Appledore as story tellers gathered to share their version of magic. Many of the fourteen happy souls who attended, took their chance at the one true alchemy which is storytelling. From real life to traditional the tales were as varied as those present. A free raffle was held at half time with four lucky people going home with a crisp new book to read. The event was free to enter and was sponsored by North Devon Authors. An enjoyable evening by all. Thank you to those who came.
With over 100 books across every genre, you’ll find the perfect escape. From romantic liaisons to international spy mysteries, you’ll discover an array of talent. There will be talks throughout the day and cake! Come along and chat with the authors, we’re a friendly bunch. There will be a publishing company there too.
With talks starting at 10.30 the event promises a packed programme of entertaining tales and anecdotes as well as tips for starting your own literary adventure.
HBF - Hartland Book Festival and bookshelf
Hartland Book Festival held it's first literary festival in March 2020.
A comfy virtual bookshop on the Hartland peninsula where you can buy direct from our local authors. Browse a unique collection of stunning books where you'll find a title for all tastes. Keeping it local for our authors and our local economy.
We will promote and review a range of fantastic books penned by authors local to Hartland which is loosely those based within the radius of about an hour or so by pony ride from the peninsula. Fair and friendly we aim to bring exclusive content including a 'Peek behind the Page' where we seek out the real thoughts of our authors as they push on to complete their published work.

Individual authors prices will vary, as will their skill set as some are also artists, performers ad story tellers.
